New Art

This one is currently in progress. I started it a while ago when I decided I was going to start painting again, but had no clue what I actually wanted to paint. I like trees, so...

This one I finished over the weekend. Greg wanted "something like Cthulhu" so this is what happened.

Since I dropped my summer class, I'm hoping to get back into the habit of painting/drawing/ doing something creative on a regular basis. I'm considering taking a stained glass class at SCC. I've never done any stained glass work before so I think it should be pretty cool.

Last movie watched: "JSA: Joint Security Area" written and directed by Chan-wook Park. So good. I have yet to watch a film by this guy that I don't like. If you aren't againt subtitles, I highly recommend it. We watched it last night, and I've been thinking about it all day. (and getting depressed - it's not a happy movie)
Currently watching: Astro Boy via Netflix Instant Watch
Reading list: I need to get caught up on Walking Dead and Invincible. I'm like 2 or 3 trade paperbacks behind on each. Maybe I'll read one of them before bed tonight.

Progress

Originally posted 5/8/07, I have a list of goals I'd like to accomplish by the time I'm thirty. Let's see how we're doing...

1. Go back to school.
2. At least be engaged to that gorgeous man of mine. This makes me laugh since most of the time I don't give a crap about this - I'm guessing when I originally wrote this list I was in a certain mood.
3. Make my Buffy movie.
4. Weigh less than or equal to 130 pounds. Gah, this one just depresses me
5. Finish The Dark Tower series.
6. Drive stick.
7. See all the movies on Bravo’s 100 Scariest Moments List.
8. Learn to cook. Besides Mac n Cheese. Although I feel can't completely delete this one yet, I've definitely added more than Mac n Cheese to my culinary acheivements. So we'll say this one is in progress...
9. Enter a pop culture trivia contest.
10. Be in a play.
11. Shoot a gun. This one should be remedied shortly. We have the guns, we just need to find the time and go to the cabin.
12. Paint a picture. I actually have one in progress right now! I'm really happy to have started to get back into this, even if I feel my creative juices are a bit dry so the picture itself is kind of boring.
13. Volunteer.
14. Learn how to dance. Like properly.
15. Watch all of the commentaries and podcasts for my Battlestar Galactica DVDs. I really feel that this is never going to happen. There is just too many...
16. Beat Paper Mario.
17. Get in the habit of reading a newspaper regularly.
18. See No Doubt in concert, so they better get back together soon.
19. See Rufus Wainwright at least twice more. He needs to come to St Louis at some point, because that would really help me out.
20. Invest.
21. Play a paper and pencil RPG. I've created a character, but haven't actually played yet.
22. Learn how to throw a punch. I'm getting better at this, but I don't think I'm ready to fight yet so I guess I can't cross it off the list.
23. Find the perfect pair of black mary janes.
24. Learn to hem pants – think of the possibilities!
25. Stop giving a rats ass about American Idol.
26. Play craps.
27. Live in a house. Or at least NOT a one bedroom apartment. Hello two (kind of three) bedroom apartment! You're so wonderful and big and maintenance free!
28. Learn how to make the perfect margarita.
29. Get an eye exam
30. Take Greg camping.

So, after two years I've managed to take off 7 things. Not all that great, but taking #1 off the list is pretty fantastic - and contributes to the fact that I don't have all the time to take care of some of these.

This is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

And so it begins...again.

Just found out Greg is working the 6pm to 6am shift all this week (through Sunday). I'm actually going back to Iowa this weekend, so I'm not going to see him until Sunday afternoon (even though we live together!) This week is just a one-off, but since the shift from hell has reared its ugly head it's just a reminder that pretty soon he'll be doing it for a whole month (or more). The money is good - but I miss my boyfriend!!

How to embarrass your sister in two easy steps

1. While watching the half-time show at your little brother's high school football game, which consisted of 15 year olds pretending to the Pussycat Dolls think to yourself "This is really disturbing. Young girls should not be idolizing the flippin' Pussycat Dolls! They should be looking up to Tina Fey! Smart is sexy!"
2. Yell these thoughts loudly while the girls are dancing. Most likely while in vicinity of one of their parents.

Score!

Also: I had a dream last night that I ran into Kirk Cameron and it was awkward because we use to date (not for real, in dream land, just in case you wondered if it was me that caused him to run toward God and The Left Behind series). I told him congrats on having the #4 Top Grossing Movie over the weekend (which is actually true). And then we made out. Cuz that's what you do with dream Kirk Cameron.

And: Dexter is back! Hooray!

Coming not very soon to a computer near you...

So for the whole 3-4 people who read this blog, some of you may know that when Coley and I were in London visiting Mike we made a Buffy movie. We were waiting for him to come home from work and I just bought a couple new action figures while we were sightseeing that day. (Yeah, while we were on vacation I bought Buffy action figures.) It was us crouched behind his kitchen counter talking in stupid voices making the figures move and dance with our hands totally visible and unable to control our laughter. It was gloriously stupid. Unfortunately, we didn't save the movie. Since my action figure collection has grown so much over the years I've always wanted to make another movie. I've even done story outlines. However, the movie has never gotten any farther than the credits I made for it almost 3 years ago. I was cleaning out my computer today and I came across it and thought I'd share it with you, dear reader.

So, there ya go. A little tease for ya until the movie is released in most likely November of 2032.
